This course equips educators and administrators with the skills and tools to make informed, evidence-based decisions using data. Participants will explore how to gather meaningful data, interpret it accurately, and translate insights into actions that enhance student achievement, equity, and operational effectiveness.

Section 1: Foundations of Data-Driven Decision Making in Education

• Why DDDM matters: linking data to improvement and accountability
• Common misconceptions and barriers to effective data use
• Understanding data literacy for educators
• The DDDM cycle: collect → analyse → interpret → act → reflect
• Workshop: diagnosing current data practices in your school or institution

Section 2: Types of Data and Their Uses

• Student achievement data: test scores, assessments, learning outcomes
• Demographic and contextual data: attendance, behaviour, socioeconomic factors
• Perception data: surveys, feedback from students, parents, and staff
• Process and operational data: curriculum delivery, resource utilisation
• Workshop: identifying and prioritizing the right data sources

Section 3: Analysing and Interpreting Educational Data

• Basic statistical concepts for educators: mean, median, trends, correlations
• Data disaggregation to identify patterns and gaps
• Using dashboards and data visualization tools
• Identifying root causes behind trends and anomalies
• Workshop: interpreting a sample dataset and drawing actionable conclusions

Section 4: Applying Data to Improve Teaching and Learning

Upon successful completion of this training course, delegates will be awarded a Holistique Training Certificate of Completion. For those who attend and complete the online training course, a Holistique Training e-Certificate will be provided.
